Network Connection

The two eight-pin modular jacks labeled

NTWK 1

and

NTWK 2

provide the

network connection. The two Network Interface (NI) ports comply with the

applicable ANSI and AT&T

standards. The NIs provide the following func-

tions:

• AMI or B8ZS coding

• Manual line build out

• D4 or ESF framing

• Network performance monitoring and reporting

• Test loopbacks with QRSS generation and checking

• Extensive self-testing

Connection

The network connection follows, with the pinout shown in Table 2-3 on page

2-6.

5 RX DATA Data received from chained units by the ATLAS.

Connect to TX DATA of the next unit (Chain In pin 5).
