TFTP Server cannot be contacted, the download attempt will timeout in ap-
proximately 20 seconds. Rememberto directtransferred filesto theApplica-
tion directory.
Retrieving the Configuration from a TFTP Server
Before trying to retrieve the configuration, ensure that a TFTP Server is run-
ning on a remote machine. If you are running the ADTRAN TFTP Server
program, the server is automatically enabled when you start the program.
Also, alevel 3or betterpassword isrequired for performing a configuration
upload. Please consult the ATLA S550 administrator if level 3 access is not
available.

upload succeeds,theunit automatically rebootsand runs usingthenew con-
figuration. If the upload fails, an error message displays in the P
REVIOUS

field. Ifthe TFTP Server cannot becontacted, the transfer
attempt times out in approximately 20 seconds.
Instructions for Retrieving a Configuration from TFTP Server

Use Telnet to
log in
to the ATLAS 550 to which you want to upload
a configuration file.

menu, then the C
ONFIG

RANSFER
menu.

Set the TFTP Server IP Address to the IP address of the machine
running the TFTP Server program. (If you are using the ADTRAN
TFTP Server, the IP address displays in the Status field.)

Change the TFTP Server filename to the filename of a previously
saved configuration you wish to load. (Enter the complete
directory path to the file.)

button and press Enter to
proceed with the transfer. Respond with Y to confirm the transfer
request.
The ATLAS 550 reboots immediately after a configuration
successfully loads. No additional confirmation isrequested, and any
online sessions are terminated.
