When set to Yes, only IP RIP updates are sent when the routing table

has changed and learned routesare not “aged.” Whensetto No (def),

updates are sent periodically.

The IPX menu contains the parameters for exchanging IPX data with

the PPP peer.

IPX/Mode

Setting to On willpermitthis connectionprofile tonegotiate PPPIPX-

CP with the PPP peer for exchanging of IPX packets.

IPX/Remote Network

A non-zero value in this remote network number will allow the Ex-

press 6100/6120 to add a route to the PPP peer’s network to the rout-

ing table.

The Express 6100/6120 normally will treat the WAN network as an

unnumbered link. This isusually referred to as being a “half-router.”

However, a PPP peer which wants toassigna networkaddress to the

WANlinkcando so, inwhichcasetheExpress6100/6120willgointo

“full-router” mode.

Tx and Rx (def) RIP advertisements are transmitted and

listened to on the WAN connection.

Tx only RIP advertisements are transmitted and

not listened to.

Rx only RIP advertisements arelistened tobut not

transmitted.
